ENVIRONMENTOR School Workshops

Rockaway Waterfront Alliance leads the “EnvironMentor” School Workshops in local schools and community centers along the Rockaway Peninsula. These workshops are led with scientists, artists and environmentalists who come to mentor Pre-K to 12th graders in classes along the Rockaway shoreline.

Students utilize the Rockaway shoreline as an outdoor classroom to address environmental justice issues and advocate for the Rockaway community. Guest speakers and professionals in the field of science, education and the arts come to take part in special project and serve as mentors for the students.

Any schools interested in having workshops led during the school year should contact Program Coordinator Elizabeth Manclark at info@rwalliance.org for fees and schedule.
