The Rockspot Bike Tour is an interactive tour that allows participants to explore select sites of environmental significance along the Rockaway Peninsula. For this tour we will be departing from the Beach 59th Street Firehouse and traveling East to the Nassau county line on the Eastern end of the Rockaways. We have a select number of bikes that can be loaned for this tour. Bikes are on a first come first serve basis so register soon. Advanced registration required for the tour. This tour will be led by Tom Finkelpearl, Director of the Queens Museum of Art with a focus on the impact of Robert Moses from the Rockaway Boardwalk to Housing. We will be departing from Firehouse 59 where we will travel west along the boardwalk to the Riis Park & the Marine Parkway Bridge. Ewaste Recycling Event Drop Off

Location: Firehouse 59 located at Rockaway Beach Blvd @ Beach 58th St, Rockaway, NY 11692
We will be hosting an ewaste recycling event with “We Recycle” . Ewaste is essentially trash from electric equipment such as computers and cell phones. At this event people can drop off any unwanted, broken or unused computer equipment that needs to be disposed of, and We Recycle will recycle the parts so they can help keep this type of trash from ending up littering our shoreline.
