Rockspot Environmental Bike Tour- Ft. Tilden to Breezy Point

Depart 11AM: Ft. Tilden Parking lot by RAA Gallery
Tour will be led by Don Riepe, Director of American Littoral Society.
Sponsored by Queens Council for the Arts
Come biking and birding on this tour through Ft. Tilden & Breezy Point. Total Mileage is about 12 miles at a relaxed pace. We will be stopping at all Rockspot sites along this route. People are welcome to bring their own bikes or rent one of the NY 400 Batavus Dutch bikes brought by Recycle A Bike. Fee is $20 for tour& bike rental for those aged 8 and up., $10 for those bringing their own bikes. Registration is required. Rentals of bikes are on a first come first serve basis.
These interactive bike tours are a collaborative effort by Rockaway Waterfront Alliance, Recycle- A- Bicycle and Pratt Institute and are intended to inform and inspire the public to rediscover the Rockaways. The tours promote public access to the NYC waterfront and bring participants to select locations throughout the Rockaway Peninsula that were nominated by the local community. Participants will be able to use the Rockspot tour map to explore all the sites along the Rockaway Peninsula and text message each site to receive information about the significance of each location. Come join us for one of these exciting tours!

Take part in RWA’s Rockspot Bike Tours! These interactive tours are a collaborative effort by Rockaway Waterfront Alliance, Recycle- A- Bicycle and Pratt Institute and are intended to inform and inspire the public to rediscover the Rockaways.
Our experienced guide will lead riders on a journey that travels the seven mile Rockaway Beach Boardwalk from the Nassau county line to the tip of the Rockaway Peninsula. We will stop at Rockspot sites along the way to discuss historical and environmental landmarks. Entire trip is 14 miles at relaxed pace.

It’s recommended that people bring a bagged lunch, sunscreen and binoculars to get the most out the day. Rental of the NY 400 Batavus bikes is on first come first serve basis.
$20 per person for tour and rental of NY 400 Batavus bike
$10 per person tour only- for those bringing their own bikes

For first time and intermediate paddlers to get a chance to kayak along Jamaica Bay.

Come out and walk for the kids.We will have swim, surf and water safety demonstrations. We need everyone to come out to take part to raise funds for RWA afterschool environmental programs.

Rockaway Mardi Gras Flotilla Parade

Location: Beach 59th Street marina
Friends, neighbors and boat owners alike will come out in costume to celebrate the famous Broad Channel Mardi Gras. There will be a contest for the best dressed boat and passengers. Food and music will be provided. Come celebrate!
