Rockaway Waterfront Alliance (RWA) announces an Urban Planning program for Youth. Planners, artists, and landscape architects will work with students on planning a greener, and more sustainable community.
This after school program introduces students to the principles of community planning and development. Students will assist with community outreach, planning workshops, building scale models, and doing research on sustainable design solutions to present to professionals and government agencies to address planning of the Rockaway Peninsula.
Starting Tuesday, September 21st
We will meet 3-6PM
Tuesdays at Beach Channel High School
Thursdays at Far Rockaway High School
Open to students 8th to 12th grade.
Students may receive class credit for participation in the program. Parents must check with their students schools beforehand to make sure they accepts credit for RWA after school programs.
