Rockaway Waterfront Alliance (RWA) is a community-based organization dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding and respect for the wetlands, dunes, and beaches of the Rockaway Beach Peninsula.
Our mission is:
• To teach schoolchildren and members of the local community to become stewards of their waterfront.
• To support local initiatives that advocate for and achieve an ecologically healthy waterfront, inland parks, and better-maintained beaches.
• To improve the overall health and quality of life for all residents of Rockaways neighborhoods and other New York City citizens.
We believe the public waterfront is for people of all races, classes and cultural backgrounds to protect, access and enjoy!
