RWA has established recycling initiatives along the beach boardwalk,
public waterfront access sites along Jamaica Bay and reclaimed neglected lots of public space for a new waterfront park presently under construction under the PLANYC 2030.
We work closely with community members, local stakeholders and government agencies to create an active and vibrant waterfront for all to enjoy. We have done this by establishing an active group of local stakeholders to lay the groundwork for a community based vision. This plan will incorporate all public space along the Rockaway Peninsula, improvements to transportation links, establishing way finding signage, as well as a blue and greenway trail for improved waterfront access and transportation alternatives.
